The next course runs Sat 5th & Sun 6th March 2022, 10am to 5pm both days!

Do you have patience for the truth?

Improv is a process, not a product. Comedy and drama are a by-product of the process, however as performers we often focus or even obsess over the by-product. By learning to understand the process, we are practicing the skill of discovering things that are unspoken.

On this course we shall explore improv at a deep level and focus on establishing truth. We will explore other elements of improv such as body language, movement and being in control of your own emotional state while allowing it to exist. Its time to slow things down.

This course is facilitated by Neil Curran and Shane Robinson, who with 30 years of improv and acting experience, will bring a unique experience for participants.

Learning Outcomes

  • Being in control of our emotional playground
  • The skill of noticing everything in a scene, every offer no matter how subtle
  • Making our emotions real – no more stock character or stock emotional responses
  • Removing the pressures of comedy or drama, and stop pandering to the expectations we think the audience has
  • Creating more meaningful relationships and characters that audiences and performers can invest in.
